The Procurement Assistant supports the Supply Chain team through strong organizational and time management skills.  This position works closely with many internal teams including Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service as well as our overseas sourcing agents.  The Procurement Assistant is accountable for the merchandise flow including but not limited to the item setup, purchase order placement, vendor communication, and on-time delivery.  The ideal candidate is detail oriented, comfortable working independently, and willing/able to learn and adapt to changing processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Issue purchase orders for imported products to meet customer demands
  • Monitor shipment status and escalate problems
  • Maintain dates in system and follow up on open purchase order report
  • Generate reports on inventory and vendor performance
  • Preserve item maintenance through weekly comparisons and updates
  • Document evolving processes
  • Ensure inventory pre-allocations are entered and maintained in support of national account needs
Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelors degree required
  • 1-3 years related experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (strong skills in Outlook and Excel)
  • Effective oral and written communicator, able to work well in a group or individually
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
